"Pedestal sinks look great, but man, storage is gold in a bathroom."
Haha, seriously... I learned that the hard way. Got tempted by a sleek pedestal sink on clearance (couldn't resist the price tag), and now I'm stuck playing Tetris with toiletries every morning. Tried baskets too—yep, clutter city. Ended up mounting a couple small shelves above the toilet; cheap and practical enough, but still miss my cabinets sometimes. Lesson learned: beauty ain't always functional!
Haha, been there... I swapped ours out thinking it'd open up the space (tiny bathroom probs), but now I'm constantly knocking shampoo bottles off the tiny shelf I installed.
Truth. Still looks nice though, so there's that."beauty ain't always functional!"
Went pedestal last year—here's my quick take:
- Pros: definitely opened up our tiny bathroom visually, easier cleaning around the base.
- Cons: zero storage (obviously), so had to add shelves...which can clutter fast.
- Tip: wall-mounted corner shelves helped us a ton. Cheap IKEA ones did the trick.
Overall, no regrets yet...but ask me again after I knock another toothpaste tube into the toilet.
Totally agree on the visual openness—our tiny half-bath felt twice as big after switching. But yeah, storage was a headache. Ended up installing a recessed medicine cabinet above ours...bit more work, but worth it for hiding clutter without losing space.
Yeah, recessed cabinets can be a lifesaver, but honestly, pedestal sinks always feel like trading one headache for another to me. Sure, the room looks bigger, but then you're stuck figuring out where to stash extra TP and cleaning supplies...not always worth the hassle imo.
