I was messing around under my sink last weekend, trying to swap out the faucet, and you know how it goes—one wrong move and suddenly there's water everywhere. Anyway, after cleaning up that mess (and calming down my dog who thought the apocalypse had come), I remembered a tip my dad showed me ages ago. Before you disconnect any pipes or fittings, grab a plastic grocery bag or small trash bag and wrap it around the pipe connection you're about to loosen. When you unscrew it, any leftover water or gunk drips neatly into the bag instead of all over your cabinet floor. Saved me from another disaster later that day when I had to adjust something else.

I'm sure some of you handy folks have your own tricks for keeping things dry and tidy under there... care to share?
