- Learned the hard way myselfβ€”thought baking soda and vinegar was foolproof until my sink erupted like a science fair volcano. Now I swear by those zip-strip things...gross but oddly satisfying. Mesh catcher is next on my list, thanks for the tip.

Haha, been there with the baking soda volcano myself...not exactly the eco-friendly miracle it's cracked up to be. Those zip-strip things do work wonders, but honestly, I always feel a bit guilty tossing them out after one use. I've switched over to a reusable drain snakeβ€”it's a bit more hands-on (and yeah, still gross), but at least I'm not adding more plastic waste to the landfill every time my sink clogs up.

Mesh catchers are great too, though they can get pretty grimy if you don't clean them regularly. Learned that lesson after mine turned into its own mini swamp ecosystem...yikes. Anyway, just thought I'd throw in another option for anyone looking to cut down on disposable stuff.
