Yeah, I hear ya on the battery sensors...they've gotten way better lately, to be fair. Used to be I'd roll my eyes every time someone mentioned wireless solutions, but honestly, after seeing enough older homes where wiring meant ripping out perfectly good tile or plaster, I get it. A battery swap once or twice a year isn't ideal, sure, but it's definitely easier than patching drywall again. Good call on going practical—sometimes the simplest solution really is best.

Totally get the drywall pain...last year I thought I'd be clever and run wiring behind some vintage tile in my bathroom. Ended up cracking three tiles and spending a weekend hunting down replacements on eBay. Lesson learned—wireless it is next time, haha.

Haha, been there...my first DIY bathroom project involved drilling into what I thought was drywall—turned out to be a hidden pipe. Instant indoor fountain. 😅 Glad you found replacements though, vintage tiles can be a nightmare to match. Wireless definitely sounds like the safer bet next time around. Hang in there, it gets easier (or at least less disastrous) with practice!

Haha, reading this takes me back to the time I thought I'd save money by installing my own shower head. Simple enough, right? Nope...ended up snapping the fitting clean off inside the wall and spent the rest of the weekend scrambling to avoid flooding the bathroom.

"Instant indoor fountain."
Definitely relate to that one, unfortunately. Glad you got sorted with matching tiles though—those vintage ones can be a real headache to track down. Wireless sounds good, but honestly, double-checking what's behind the wall first is the real lifesaver.

Haha, been there myself... DIY plumbing always seems straightforward until you're ankle-deep in water.

Totally agree with this. Wireless tech can be handy, but nothing beats actually knowing what's hiding behind your drywall. I invested in one of those cheap inspection cameras last year—saved me from drilling straight into a pipe during my kitchen remodel. Worth every penny, honestly.
