Had a similar issue last summer, thought it was sediment too but turned out the aerators on the faucets were clogged with mineral buildup. Quick soak in vinegar fixed it... always worth checking the small stuff first before jumping to bigger fixes.

I get where you’re coming from—clogged aerators are a common culprit, for sure. But sometimes low pressure’s more about the supply lines or even the pressure regulator, especially if it’s affecting multiple fixtures at once. Had a job last month where the whole house was sluggish and it turned out to be a failing PRV, not just gunked-up faucets. Just saying, it’s worth checking both ends before assuming it’s only the little stuff.

Yeah, totally agree—if it’s just one faucet, sure, check the aerator first. But if the whole house is acting up, gotta look at the bigger picture. I’ve seen old galvanized pipes choke things up too, not just the PRV. Sometimes it’s a combo of issues... plumbing likes to keep us guessing.

Not every sluggish house is a PRV or old pipes, though. Sometimes it’s just a partially closed main shutoff—seen that more than once after someone did work and forgot to open it all the way. Worth checking before tearing into the system.

I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve seen plenty of cases where folks checked the main shutoff and it was wide open, yet the pressure was still lousy. Sometimes it’s a sneaky PRV that’s stuck halfway or a hidden filter someone forgot about. Before blaming the shutoff, I usually run through a quick checklist: main valve, PRV, any inline filters, and then start looking for old galvanized lines. Saves a lot of headaches chasing the wrong culprit.
