So, um, I thought installing my new washing machine would be a breeze—watched a couple YouTube vids, felt pretty confident, you know. But now it's shaking like crazy and making this weird banging noise during spin cycles. Pretty sure I missed something important... maybe leveling or those shipping bolts thingies? Has anyone else had this happen or got any quick tips before I flood my laundry room?

Haha, been there, done that... sounds exactly like when I forgot to remove the shipping bolts from mine. Thought the washer was possessed or something. Did you check if they're still in? Also, leveling definitely helps—mine danced across the floor until I adjusted those little feet underneath. Speaking of washers, anyone else ever lose socks behind theirs, or is that just me being clumsy again?

Haha, the sock thing is universal, trust me. I once pulled my washer out to fix a leak and found an entire graveyard of socks, a couple of dryer sheets, and even a screwdriver I'd been missing for months. Still no idea how that got there...

But yeah, leveling is key. When I first installed mine, I thought eyeballing it would be good enough—big mistake. First spin cycle, the thing started shaking like it was trying to escape. Ended up using a carpenter's level and adjusting those little feet underneath until it was perfectly balanced. Took a bit of patience, but totally worth it in the end.

Also, double-check your hoses. I learned the hard way that hand-tightening isn't always enough. Had a slow drip behind the washer for weeks before I noticed the dampness on the wall. A quick wrench-tightening fixed it right up.

Anyway, good luck sorting yours out—it's usually something simple like bolts or leveling.
