Honestly, I get the frustration, but I think some of these “smart” fixtures get a bad rap.

- Not all techy upgrades are high-maintenance. My sensor faucet’s been going strong for two years, no hiccups.
-

“Double-checking for leaks or condensation is always smart, especially with anything electrical near water.”
— True, but that’s just regular home maintenance, not a flaw in the product.
- Sometimes the issue’s install quality, not the gadget itself. Cheap wiring or poor sealing can mess up even basic fixtures.
- I’d rather deal with occasional quirks than waste water with old-school setups. Just my two cents.

I’ve seen a lot of these “smart” fixtures in rentals, and honestly, the biggest problems usually come from rushed installs or folks not reading the manual. Had a tenant once who thought the sprayer was broken, but it was just set to “auto clean” mode—scared the heck out of them at 2am. I agree, regular checks for leaks or moisture are just part of keeping any place running smoothly. Tech’s only as good as its setup and upkeep. Sometimes old-school isn’t actually easier in the long run...

Couldn't agree more with that. I've seen way more headaches from poor installs than from the tech itself. Manuals get tossed, features get missed, and then you get those 2am surprises. Honestly, regular checks save way more time than they cost. Old-school stuff can be just as much trouble if folks skip the basics. It's all about maintenance, not just the gadgets.

- Couldn’t agree more on the install side—seen way too many “smart” sprayers leak just because someone skipped a washer or didn’t tighten a fitting right.
- Manuals get ignored, then folks wonder why there’s water everywhere.
- Even basic sprayers need checks. Mineral buildup or loose connections can mess up old-school setups just as fast.
- Honestly, it’s not always the tech’s fault... sometimes it’s just a rushed job or skipped maintenance.

Had a similar issue last year—brand new sprayer, supposedly “eco-smart,” but it started leaking within a week. Turns out, the installer skipped a washer and didn’t bother with the manual. I get that

“Manuals get ignored, then folks wonder why there’s water everywhere.”
but honestly, it’s not just about reading; it’s about respecting the process. Even with older models, I’ve found mineral buildup can sneak up fast if you’re on hard water. Maintenance isn’t glamorous, but it saves a lot of headaches (and wasted water) down the line.
