Finally took the plunge (pun intended, lol) and swapped out our old toilet for one of those water-saving, composting models. Honestly, I was skeptical at firstβlike, how well could it really work without flushing gallons of water every time? But surprisingly, it's been pretty great. No weird smells, easy enough to maintain, and our water bill actually dropped noticeably this month.
One tip though: if you're going composting route, keep a small container of sawdust or coconut coir handy. Tossing a scoop in after every use makes a huge difference in odor control and helps the composting process. Learned that one the hard way after a slightly awkward weekend with guests over, haha.
Curious if anyone else has tried different tricks or hacks to make these toilets even easier to use or maintain. I'm still kinda new to this whole thing, you know, so any extra tips would be awesome.
