Yeah, I’ve noticed that too—sometimes it’s just not about how you set it up, it’s the way it’s built. I used to think I was doing something wrong, but honestly, some of these models just don’t deliver on the half flush. You’re not alone in this.

Yeah, I’ve run into that with a couple toilets over the years. Some just don’t seem to have enough oomph on the half flush, no matter how you tweak the settings or mess with the float. I’ve even tried adjusting the water level in the tank, but it barely made a difference. Makes you wonder if it’s just a design flaw with certain brands or models.

Curious—has anyone actually found a model where the half flush works as advertised? Or is it just one of those things that sounds good on paper but never really pans out in real life? I keep thinking maybe there’s some trick I’m missing, but after swapping out parts and fiddling around, I’m starting to think it’s just how some of these things are built.

Half flushes are kind of the unicorn of bathroom tech, aren’t they? I’ve been on a bit of a mission to find one that actually works as promised. I’ve tried a couple of the “eco” models—Toto and Caroma come to mind—and honestly, Caroma’s dual flush is the only one I’ve seen consistently clear the bowl on a half flush. But even then, it’s not perfect every time.

I’ve noticed it’s not just about the tank or float settings, but also how the bowl is designed. Some toilets just don’t have the right shape or water flow to make a half flush effective, no matter what you do. It’s like they engineered the feature for marketing, not real-world use.

Have you checked if your flapper or flush valve is actually compatible with dual-flush? Sometimes swapping out for an aftermarket kit helps, but it’s hit or miss. I wish there was a magic fix, but sometimes it really does come down to the model itself... which is kind of annoying when you’re trying to save water and not have to double-flush all the time.

Honestly, I’ve seen half flushes work pretty well if the water pressure’s right and the rim jets aren’t clogged up. Sometimes it’s not just the bowl shape—mineral buildup can mess with the flow more than people realize. Had a client swear their dual flush was junk, but after a deep clean and tweaking the fill valve, it worked way better. Not saying every model is perfect, but sometimes it’s the little stuff that gets overlooked.

Honestly, I run into this all the time—folks think their toilet’s busted when it’s usually something simple like a half-clogged jet or a float set too high. Not every fixture is made equal, but I’ve seen even the “cheap” models work fine after a good mineral descaling. Out of curiosity, have you checked if your tank’s refilling to the right level? Sometimes that’s all it takes to get a proper half flush.
