The half flush is supposed to save water, but if it barely moves anything, folks just end up double-flushing or holding the button, which defeats the whole point.

Yeah, I hear you. I’ve spent more time fiddling with that little plastic arm inside my tank than I care to admit. The “half flush” on mine is basically a suggestion at this point—sometimes it works, sometimes it’s just a sad little swirl.

If you’re feeling brave, you can try adjusting the float or the chain length (I know, not exactly a Saturday night thrill ride). Sometimes just an extra link or two makes all the difference. But honestly, some of these dual-flush setups seem designed to test your patience more than anything else.

I get wanting to save water, but when you’re flushing twice as much just to get things moving... yeah, kind of defeats the purpose. You’re definitely not missing anything obvious—it’s just one of those “modern convenience” things that isn’t always so convenient. If you ever figure out the magic combo for a perfect half flush, let us know. Until then, I’m right there with you in the “just use the full flush and move on” camp.
