Half flush never seems to work right—am I missing something?

I swear, every time I try to use the “eco” button on our dual flush toilet, it’s like nothing happens. I end up having to flush again anyway, which kinda defeats the purpose, right? Maybe I’m just unlucky with the model we have, but is this a common thing? Or is there some trick to making the half flush actually do its job?

Man, I’ve chased my tail on half-flush issues more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes it’s just gunk on the seal or mineral buildup, not even the cable or flapper. I swear, those dual-flush setups are way pickier than they look. And yeah, water savings always seem better on paper—my meter barely budged after swapping out two toilets. Go figure.
