Sometimes it’s the little stuff that makes the biggest racket.
- Had a tenant call about “pipes screaming” once—turned out to be a loose washer in the shutoff valve.
- Another time, weird hissing was just a cracked toilet supply line gasket.
- Always check vent stacks too. Once spent half a day chasing a noise that was just wind whistling down an uncapped vent... felt pretty silly after.
Funny how it’s usually something tiny making all that noise, but I’ve gotta say, sometimes those “little” issues can turn ugly fast if you ignore them. Had a hissing once that was just a gasket—until it blew out and flooded the floor. Not every weird sound is harmless, y’know?
