I get the concern, but is it always a disaster waiting to happen? My place has had random hissing here and there—sometimes it’s just air in the pipes or a valve not fully closed. I mean, I’m not ignoring it, just not panicking yet. Does every noise really mean a leak?
Not every hiss is a plumbing horror story waiting to unfold, trust me. Half the time, it’s just a cranky old valve or a bit of trapped air doing its thing. I’ve had tenants call me in a panic over what turned out to be a radiator sighing after a cold night. If you’re not seeing water, feeling dampness, or noticing a drop in pressure, you’re probably fine for now. Just keep an eye (and ear) on it—pipes love attention, but they don’t always mean trouble.
