my old water heater's making weird noises... haunted or time for a change?
Okay, so my water heater has started making these creepy popping and banging noises lately. Honestly, sounds like a ghost is trapped in there or something, lol. Anyone dealt with this before - is it fixable or am I looking at replacing the whole thing?

Popping or banging by itself doesn’t mean the heater needs replacing; there can be fixable causes, so I’d want the cause checked before making that call. Does it happen mainly while the heater is warming water? If you smell gas, leave the area and report it from a safe location.
