Okay, so last night's downpour got me thinking again about how everyone deals with runoff around their homes. Our backyard turns into a mini lake every time there's heavy rain, and I'm starting to think our drainage setup isn't exactly cutting it. I've seen neighbors put in gravel trenches or those French drain things, but honestly, I'm not sure what's most effective or worth the hassle.

Figured I'd toss up a quick poll to see what most of you folks are doing:

What's your go-to method for managing heavy rain runoff?

- French drains
- Rain gardens
- Gravel trenches
- Rain barrels or cisterns
- Just let nature do its thing (no special setup)
- Something else entirely (share below)

Feel free to drop a comment if you've tried something that worked wondersβ€”or totally flopped, haha. I'm kinda leaning toward a rain garden myself, but um, not sure if that's biting off more than I can chew.
