I'm stuck deciding between a standalone handheld inspection cam (like those Ridgid ones) and one of those cheaper Wi-Fi cams that connect to your phone. Anyone have experience with either? Wondering if the dedicated screen's worth the extra bucks or not.

I've used both types over the years, and honestly, the dedicated handheld screens are nice for quick jobs—no messing around with apps or Wi-Fi connections dropping out. But they're pricey for what you get. The phone-connected ones are cheaper and usually have better image quality, but fumbling with your phone in tight spaces can be a pain. Ever tried holding your phone steady while crawling under a sink or behind drywall...? Not fun. How often do you plan on using it?
