Spent yesterday afternoon getting the pipes insulated and checking outdoor faucets. Honestly, felt pretty accomplished since last year I had a pipe burst—total nightmare. Curious if anyone else has had good luck prepping their plumbing for colder weather?

Yeah, burst pipes are no joke... dealt with one at my parents' place a couple winters ago. Since then, I've been pretty diligent about insulating pipes and disconnecting hoses. One thing I've wondered about though—anyone tried those heated cable wraps for pipes? I've seen them at the hardware store but haven't given them a shot yet. Curious if they're worth the extra hassle or if regular insulation usually does the trick.
