I get where you’re coming from—no sense in fixing what ain’t broke. But I’ve seen a few “working fine” gate valves suddenly seize up right when you need them most, usually during a leak at 2am. That’s always a treat.

Ever had one fail at the worst possible time? I’m always torn between leaving well enough alone and just swapping them out preemptively, especially in older places. Curious if you’ve ever regretted not replacing one sooner.
