You're spot on about sensors—they're helpful but not always reliable. Had a similar issue myself, turned out to be a clogged vent stack causing all sorts of weird noises. Clearing it out quieted things down nicely... worth checking into if you haven't yet.

Interesting, vent issues are surprisingly common but overlooked. Glad you sorted yours out. Did you notice the noises mostly during temperature shifts, like when it got colder at night? I've seen vents causing more trouble in colder weather—airflow and pressure differences can really amplify even minor blockages... Curious if others noticed similar patterns.

Funny you mention temperature shifts—I had a similar issue last winter. First-time homeowner here, and I swear my pipes were auditioning for a horror movie soundtrack every night around 2 AM. At first, I thought the place was haunted or something... turns out it was just the vent stack blocked by some leaves and debris. Cleared it out, and suddenly the pipes got real quiet again. Weird how something so simple can cause such creepy noises.

I didn't really notice it during warmer months, so yeah, colder temps definitely seem to make things worse. Maybe it's the air pressure or something... or maybe my house just likes messing with me when I'm trying to sleep. Either way, lesson learned—check your vents before calling an exorcist.

- Had this happen a few times with rental properties, tenants swore they had ghosts... turned out to be loose pipes or trapped air pockets.
- Cold weather makes pipes contract, so you're not imagining things.
- Still, I wouldn't rule out your house messing with you completely... houses can have personality, lol.

Haha, reminds me of a job I helped on last winter. The homeowners were convinced their basement was haunted—turns out it was just air trapped in the heating pipes. But honestly...

"houses can have personality, lol."

...sometimes I swear those pipes were laughing at us.
