I get your point about tech missing things, but honestly, it's usually user error or poor setup rather than the tech itself. Leak detectors can be super reliable if installed correctly and placed strategically. Maybe yours wasn't positioned right or sensitive enough? I'd suggest double-checking the placement and settings—sometimes a small adjustment makes all the difference. Tech isn't foolproof, sure, but dismissing it entirely might mean missing out on some genuinely helpful tools.

Fair point, but even with perfect placement, I've seen detectors miss subtle leaks—especially slow drips behind walls or under flooring. They're helpful, sure, but relying solely on tech without regular manual checks can still lead to trouble down the line...

Haha, if my pipes started talking back, they'd probably just complain about how much coffee I pour down the sink... or ask me to stop singing in the shower. But seriously, you're spot on about detectors not catching everything. Last year, we had this tiny leak behind our dishwasher—nothing dramatic, just a slow drip that went unnoticed for months. Detectors didn't pick it up at all. It wasn't until we noticed the floorboards warping slightly that we realized something was off. Tech is great and all, but nothing beats actually poking around yourself every now and then. Maybe our pipes really should start speaking up—might save us some headaches (and soggy floors) down the road?

I feel you on that dishwasher leak—had something similar happen under our bathroom sink. Just a tiny drip, nothing you'd notice right away. By the time we caught it, the cabinet floor was basically mush. Sensors are handy, but they're not foolproof... sometimes you just gotta get down there with a flashlight and check things out yourself. If my pipes could talk, they'd probably give me grief for ignoring that weird gurgling sound for months. Lesson learned, I guess.

Exactly. Sensors rely on water pooling up enough to trigger them, and by then you might already have some damage. Have you considered installing a drip tray under sinks or appliances prone to leaks? They're easy enough to DIY—just a simple plastic tray or sheet metal pan can save you from cabinet mush down the line. Also, curious about your gurgling pipes: did you ever track down what caused it? Usually that points to venting issues or partial clogs in the drain lines. If you've got multiple fixtures making noise, it might be worth checking your roof vents for blockages—leaves, bird nests, even ice buildup in colder climates can cause trouble.
