Had a bit of a sink drama yesterday, water just wouldn't drain properly, you know how annoying that gets. Anyway, grabbed a plunger—yeah, the same one you'd use for the toilet—and gave it a few firm plunges. Surprisingly, that did the trick pretty quick. But then I remembered someone told me baking soda and vinegar works too, so I tried that afterward just to clear things up better. Half cup baking soda down the drain, followed by about a cup of vinegar. Waited like 15 mins (it fizzed up pretty good), then flushed it with hot water. Sink's draining like new now.
I'm wondering if anyone else has better tricks or maybe something less messy? The vinegar smell lingered a bit longer than I'd hoped, lol.

I've tried that baking soda and vinegar trick too, but honestly, boiling water alone usually clears minor clogs just fine. Less fuss, no lingering smell... ever given that a shot?

I've done the boiling water trick a few times myself, and yeah, it does work for minor stuff. But honestly, I've found it doesn't always tackle those slightly tougher clogs—like when my kids decided to pour leftover oatmeal down the drain (don't ask...). In those cases, the baking soda and vinegar combo seems more effective. Funny you mention smell though; I've never noticed vinegar lingering too long afterward. Maybe different vinegars have different strengths?
