Just finished installing a new sink in the bathroom, and I bought one of those DIY plumbing kits from the hardware store. Seemed pretty straightforward at first, but then I started reading the fine print about local codes and regulations... um, is it just me or are these plumbing rules written in another language? Like, I get safety and all, but some stuff feels overly complicated. Anyone else find these plumbing codes kinda confusing or am I just plumbing-challenged?
You're definitely not alone on this one. I've tackled a few DIY plumbing jobs myself and honestly, some of those rules seem like they're written by someone who's never picked up a wrench in their life. I mean, safety is important, sure... but sometimes it feels like the codes are intentionally confusing just to keep plumbers in business. Still, once you decode the jargon, most of it actually makes sense (annoyingly). Hang in thereβit gets easier after your second or third head-scratching project.
