Interesting experience, but honestly, I've found that adding a bit of extra cushioning—like felt or recycled denim insulation—between the clamps and framing works wonders. Tightness matters less if the vibrations have nowhere to go... plus, eco-friendly bonus points for repurposing materials.

Couldn't agree more with this point. I've seen plenty of folks overtighten clamps, thinking it'll solve everything, but cushioning really is key. I usually recommend something similar—felt works great, and I've also had success with rubber strips from old bike tubes (another eco-friendly hack). Glad you found a solution that works for you... always satisfying when the pipes finally quiet down, isn't it?

Good points here, but just a quick heads-up—be careful with the rubber strips from bike tubes. They work great for vibration dampening, but I've seen them degrade over time, especially if they're exposed to heat or moisture regularly. Felt pads or foam insulation sleeves tend to hold up better long-term. Learned that the hard way after having to redo a job for my brother-in-law...he still hasn't let me live it down, haha.

Haha, sounds like your brother-in-law and mine would get along great—mine still brings up the "creative" plumbing fix I tried last summer. Curious though, anyone tried cork strips? Heard they're decent but haven't tested myself yet.

Haha, gotta love family DIY memories...they never fade. Cork strips actually worked pretty well for me—easy enough to install, and they quieted things down noticeably. Worth a shot if you're leaning eco-friendly too.
