I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve actually seen pipe insulation make a noticeable difference—just not always in the ways people expect. If you’re only worried about noise, yeah, strapping pipes down is usually the real fix. But I’ve worked in a few older basements where uninsulated hot water lines were basically space heaters, and wrapping them did knock a few bucks off the bill over winter. Not a huge drop, but enough to notice. As for condensation, it’s legit if you’ve got cold pipes sweating in humid spots—foam sleeves can help there. The fancy stuff is overkill most of the time, though. Just my two cents.
