Yeah, sealing the seams is where most people cut corners. I’ve seen painter’s tape, electrical tape, even zip ties—none of it really lasts. If you’re gonna use foam sleeves, at least hit the joints with some proper pipe wrap tape. It’s a few extra bucks but saves a headache later. And duct tape… honestly, I think it just gives people false hope. Moisture always wins that battle.

Couldn’t agree more—duct tape’s just not built for pipes. I used to think it was a fix-all, but after a winter or two, it just peels right off. Pipe wrap tape’s worth the couple extra bucks, especially if you don’t want to redo the job every year. Nice work tackling those noisy pipes, by the way. It’s one of those jobs that feels small but makes a big difference.
