Kind of makes me wonder how many “leaks” are actually just condensation from cold pipes in humid weather, or weird gunk clogging up the drain and causing backups that look like leaks.

That’s exactly what trips me up. I’ll see a little moisture and start panicking, but sometimes it’s just the pipe sweating because the AC is blasting and it’s muggy out. I’ve tried the tissue trick too—works pretty well, but I always wonder if I’m missing something. Has anyone ever had a “leak” that turned out to be just condensation, but you tore half the cabinet apart before figuring it out? Or am I just paranoid?

You’re definitely not alone. I once pulled out half the under-sink stuff, convinced there was a slow leak, only to realize it was just condensation from the cold water line after a hot shower. It’s so easy to overthink when you see any moisture down there. The tissue trick helps, but I still double-check everything just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?
