You're right, baking soda and vinegar can be decent for minor blockages, but they're usually not enough for tougher clogs—especially grease or hair buildup. A drain snake is definitely a solid next step. Just a quick tip: when using one, rotate it slowly and steadily rather than forcing it down aggressively. I've seen folks damage their pipes by being too rough. If the clog persists after snaking, it's probably deeper in the line, and that's when calling in a pro might save you from bigger headaches later on...

Yeah, drain snakes can be a lifesaver. I've had mixed luck though—sometimes pulling out hair clumps works wonders, other times it's like I'm just pushing the blockage further down. One thing I've wondered: does anyone know if those enzyme-based drain cleaners are worth it? I've seen them at the store claiming to "eat away" buildup naturally... sounds interesting, but I'm skeptical if they're actually effective or just marketing hype.

I've tried those enzyme cleaners a couple times... honestly, didn't notice much difference. Maybe they're better as a preventative measure rather than dealing with an existing clog? For stubborn blockages, I've had way better luck with the baking soda and vinegar trick—cheap, simple, and usually does the job. If that fails, it's probably time to bite the bullet and call a pro before you accidentally make things worse.

I've had mixed results with enzyme cleaners too. Seems like they're hit or miss depending on the type of clog. Baking soda and vinegar usually does the trick for me as well, but when things get really stubborn, have you ever tried one of those drain snakes? They're pretty cheap at hardware stores and saved me from calling a plumber a couple times. A bit messy, sure... but worth a shot before shelling out for a pro.

Yeah, drain snakes have saved me more times than I care to admit. I remember one tenant who kept flushing baby wipes (despite multiple reminders 🙄). Baking soda and vinegar didn't stand a chance there—had to snake it myself. Messy indeed, but cheaper than an emergency plumber call at midnight. Ever had to deal with tree roots invading your pipes? Now that's a whole other level of DIY headache...
