Just saw this crazy story on the local news site about a family whose basement completely flooded overnight because of a burst pipe. Apparently, they woke up to like ankle-deep water and had no clue what to do first. They ended up losing a bunch of stuffβfurniture, electronics, family photos. Pretty awful, honestly.
Got me thinking though...I mean, I know where my shut-off valve is (at least I think I do?), but if something like that happened at my place at 3am, I'd probably be stumbling around half-asleep in panic mode. Do you guys have some kind of mental checklist or plan for plumbing disasters? Or are you more like me, just assuming it'll never happen until it does, lol.
Kinda curious if anyone here's been through something similar and how you handled it. Seems like one of those things we all should probably think about ahead of time...but you know how it goes.
