What should a furnace heat-exchanger replacement quote spell out?
A heat-exchanger replacement quote is hard to compare if it only gives a total. What inspection evidence should support the diagnosis, and should the quote identify the furnace model and confirm that the replacement part is available?
I’d also want to see the heat exchanger, labor, and any related components or required checks listed separately. Which details make it easier to judge whether two quotes cover the same work, without assuming the exchanger is confirmed faulty before it’s inspected?
