Aerators are a no-brainer—cheap, quick to install, and tenants never complain.

Couldn’t agree more on aerators—best bang for your buck by far. I’d also throw in that dual-flush toilets have been solid for us, but only if you get decent ones. Had one cheap model that kept leaking... lesson learned. Never bothered with recirc pumps either—just not worth the hassle in a small place.

Dual-flush toilets are a bit of a gamble, aren’t they? I’ve seen some that work like a charm, but others just seem to have constant issues—leaks, weird flush mechanisms, you name it. Ever tried those pressure-assisted toilets? I’m curious if they’re actually worth the extra cost or just another thing to fix down the line. And recirc pumps... yeah, in a small unit, seems like more trouble than it’s worth. Anyone ever regret skipping them?

Pressure-assisted toilets are a mixed bag in my experience. They do the job, but when something goes wrong, repairs tend to be pricier and way more of a hassle than standard gravity models. Dual-flush is hit or miss—some brands just don’t hold up. Recirc pumps in small spaces? Honestly, I’ve never missed having one, and I’d rather avoid another thing that could spring a leak. Has anyone actually seen long-term savings with these “eco” upgrades, or is it mostly marketing hype?

Honestly, I’ve seen a lot of folks get sucked in by the “eco” label, but unless you’re on metered water or have high usage, the payback can be pretty slow. Pressure-assist toilets are powerful, yeah, but if they leak or fail, you’re looking at specialized parts and sometimes even a plumber who knows what they’re doing. That’s not cheap. Dual-flush can save water—if everyone uses it right and the seals hold up. I’ve replaced more failed flush mechanisms than I care to admit.

Recirc pumps? In small spaces, they’re just another thing that can go wrong and cause a mess. I’d rather stick with simpler systems where possible. Sometimes less is more when it comes to plumbing reliability.

Yeah, I hear you—it’s easy to get caught up in the hype. I’ve run the numbers too and honestly, unless your bills are sky-high, you might not see big savings for a while. Sometimes keeping it simple just makes more sense, especially if you’re watching costs.
