Honestly, I spend less time scrubbing the handle with greasy hands now.

That’s a fair point—less cleaning is always a win. I’ve worked on a few of those touch faucets, and reliability seems to come down to brand and install quality. Have you noticed any issues with the sensor acting up if your hands are wet or if there’s a lot of splatter around the base? Some folks mention false triggers, but maybe that’s just older models.

I hear you on the sensor quirks—ours has a mind of its own if I’m chopping veggies and things get a bit splashy. Once, it turned on just because my cat brushed past the base (she’s apparently very hydrated now). But honestly, I’d still take the occasional surprise spritz over scrubbing greasy handles any day. It’s like a tiny kitchen lottery... sometimes you win, sometimes you get wet socks.

Honestly, I'm still getting used to mine—I never realized how sensitive those sensors could be. The cat story made me laugh, but now I'm wondering if I need to rethink where I put the pet food bowls. Does anyone have tips for dialing down the sensitivity, or is it just a matter of learning to live with the occasional splash? I keep worrying I'll set it off just reaching for a towel.

Totally get that—those sensors are wild sometimes. When I first installed mine, I kept triggering it just by waving my hand too close. What worked for me: I adjusted the angle of the sensor slightly downward (if yours lets you), and moved anything reflective or shiny a bit further away. Also, if your model has a sensitivity dial underneath, try turning it down a notch. It took some trial and error, but now I only get the occasional surprise splash... usually when I'm half-awake and forget how close I am. Hang in there, you'll get used to it!

Yeah, those motion sensors can be more sensitive than they need to be. I’ve seen folks put a little piece of tape over part of the sensor to narrow the field—works surprisingly well if you don’t mind how it looks. One thing I’d add: keep an eye on any soap residue or water spots near the sensor, since buildup can make them even twitchier. Not perfect, but it helps cut down on the “random waterfall” moments.
