Yeah, I’ve tried the baking soda and vinegar thing out of desperation—didn’t do much for rice. Maybe it works on greasy stuff, but rice just swells and clings to everything. I learned the hard way that taking apart the trap is way less hassle than fighting with a plunger for half an hour. My housemate does the same “just a little” routine... somehow it’s always my problem when things back up. At this point, I just keep a drain snake handy and hope for the best.
