Honestly, I was skeptical at first (and not thrilled about the cost), but wow, what a difference. No more backups, and cleaning up after dinner is way less gross now. Anyone else have a similar “why didn’t I do this sooner” moment with kitchen upgrades?

Imagine you’re opening a small café, nothing too fancy, but you know you’ll be frying up a storm. You’ve got to pick a grease trap system, and you’re torn between one of those under-sink, in-kitchen units (easy to access, but kinda ugly and takes up space) or going for a bigger, underground one outside (more expensive, but supposedly less maintenance and out of sight).

I keep reading mixed stuff—some folks say the in-kitchen ones are a pain to clean and stink up the place, but others complain about the cost and hassle of installing the big outdoor ones. If you were in my shoes, which way would you lean? Anyone regret their choice, or wish they’d gone the other route?

So, I've been struggling with that nasty grease trap situation in my kitchen forever, you know, always dreading cleaning it out because it's just gross and messy. But yesterday, finally decided enough was enough and did some digging online. Found out there's actually companies that come pump it out professionally—who knew, right? Anyway, booked a service, and the guy came today. Whole thing took maybe 20 mins tops, and my kitchen smells way less like a fast-food joint now, lol.

Honestly, can't believe I waited so long to just handle this. Feels like a huge weight off my shoulders (and nose). Curious if anyone else had a similar experience where you put something off forever and then once you did it, you thought "why didn't I do this ages ago?"

I've been dealing with this greasy mess in my kitchen for a while now, and finally found a pretty neat trick. Instead of pouring grease down the drain (which, um, I learned the hard way is a terrible idea), I started pouring it into an empty coffee can lined with foil. Once it solidifies, I just wrap up the foil and toss it. Easy cleanup and no more clogged pipes. Curious what other people do—any clever tricks out there?

Apparently, the owner said they didn't have the right tools or know-how to keep it clean properly. Made me wonder—how many small restaurants or even home kitchens are actually prepared to deal with this stuff? I mean, I barely know what's lurking under my own sink half the time, haha. Is this a common issue people run into?
