Saw an article yesterday about how a ton of people accidentally shorten their garbage disposal's lifespan by tossing in stuff they shouldn't (like grease or bones). Um, guilty as charged...I thought those things were like little metal monsters that could handle anything, lol. But apparently not. Got me wondering if anyone has some good tricks or habits to keep theirs running smooth? Mine sounds tired lately and I'd rather not replace it anytime soon, you know?

Haha, yeah, a lot of people think that, but they're actually pretty sensitive. One thing I've learned from experience is to regularly toss in some ice cubesβsounds weird, but it sharpens the blades and clears out gunk buildup. Also, running cold water while it's on helps solidify any grease bits so they flush through easier. Curious though, have you tried resetting yours yet? Sometimes that's all it takes...
