Most of the time, these fluctuations are minor and temporary, so they don't see it as worth the hassle of notifying everyone.

Yeah, usually cities skip notifications for small stuff. But the PRV suggestion caught my attention—how often do those valves need maintenance or replacing? Seems like a solid fix, but is it a set-and-forget kinda thing or...?

PRVs are pretty reliable overall, but from what I've read, they're not exactly "set-and-forget." Usually, every 5-10 years you'll wanna check the pressure and maybe replace internal parts if needed. Has anyone actually done this themselves—is it DIY-friendly or better left to a plumber?
