Yeah, toilets can definitely be deceptive. Glad the dye test worked out for you—it's a simple trick but surprisingly effective. Still, I'd caution anyone reading this to double-check faucets and showerheads too. I've seen plenty of cases where a small drip there caused just as much water waste as a leaky toilet valve. Always good practice to periodically inspect all fixtures... saves headaches (and money) down the road.

True, but I'd argue toilets usually cause bigger hidden leaks since they're less noticeable day-to-day. Faucets and showerheads drip visibly, so you're more likely to fix those sooner... at least in my experience.
