I've had enough of dealing with clogged drains, so here's what I've been doing lately: first, I got one of those cheap drain strainers for the kitchen sink and shower. They're kinda gross to clean, but better than pulling hairballs outta pipes, you know? Second, every week or two I pour boiling water down the drains to melt away any grease or soap buildup. Seems to help. But um, anyone got a simpler trick or something less gross?

Haha, totally feel you on that one. Honestly, you're already doing the best low-effort stuff. I've tried the baking soda and vinegar trickβ€”works okay-ish, but feels like a middle-school science project every time. One thing that's helped me is switching soaps; some seem to leave less residue. Still gotta clean the strainer though...guess there's no escaping that grossness completely.

Haha, exactly my thoughts whenever I pour baking soda and vinegar down the drain. I mean, it does fizz nicely, but I always wonder if it's actually doing much or just giving me a false sense of accomplishment. I've been trying to avoid harsher chemicals lately, so I gave those enzyme-based drain cleaners a shot. They're supposed to be eco-friendly and all, but honestly, results have been pretty mixed. Sometimes it seems to help, other times...not so much.

One thing that did surprise me was how much difference a silicone drain cover made. It catches hair way better than the metal ones I've used before, and it's easier to cleanβ€”though still kinda gross, admittedly. Guess there's just no perfect solution, huh?
