Could be the vent stack, yeah... but have you thought about checking your main sewer line? Had a similar issue once, turned out roots had grown into mine—bit more involved than leaves, unfortunately. Better safe than sorry though, right?

Yeah, roots can be a real headache... had a similar scare at my place last year. Thought it was just leaves or debris at first, but nope—turned out to be tree roots creeping into the main line. Honestly, I'd recommend getting a camera inspection done sooner rather than later. It's not cheap, but it's way better than waiting until things get worse and you're dealing with a flooded basement or something. Also, have you noticed any weird gurgling sounds or slow drains elsewhere in the house? Sometimes those can be early warning signs that something bigger's brewing underground.

Camera inspections are helpful, but before dropping money on that, you might wanna try an enzyme-based root treatment first. Worked wonders for me—it's eco-friendly, cheaper, and kept the roots at bay without digging everything up. Worth a shot maybe?

Interesting, I've seen that stuff work pretty well too, especially if it's just minor root intrusion. But I'm curious—how long did it take before you noticed a difference? I've heard mixed things about how quickly enzyme treatments kick in...some say weeks, others months. Would be good to know what your experience was like before recommending it to others.

I had pretty good luck with enzyme treatments too, but yeah, patience is key. When I first tried it, I didn't notice much for about three weeks or so. Honestly, at first I thought I'd wasted my money because nothing seemed to change. But around the one-month mark, things started flowing noticeably better. By two months in, the drain was running smoother than it had in years.

I think a lot depends on how bad your root intrusion is and how consistently you apply the stuff. My neighbor tried it once and gave up after a couple weeks because he didn't see immediate results—ended up paying big bucks for a plumber instead. Meanwhile, I've been using enzymes twice a year now as maintenance, and haven't had any major backups since.

So yeah, hang in there if you're not seeing instant improvement...it does work eventually, just gotta give it some time.
