My dishwasher's been acting up lately—sometimes it leaves dishes soaking wet, other times there's this weird gritty residue stuck on glasses. I've tried cleaning the filter and even switched detergents, but nothing seems to help. It's not even that old, maybe 3 years tops. Starting to wonder if it's just me or if dishwashers these days are built to annoy us, lol. Anybody else dealing with similar quirks?

Had something similar happen to mine a while back, turned out it wasn't the detergent or filter at all. The spray arms had tiny bits of junk stuck in the holes—never would've guessed that'd cause gritty glasses, but it did. Also, if dishes stay wet, check if the heating element's still working right. Honestly, newer appliances seem built more for looks than durability these days... not that I'm bitter or anything, lol.

Interesting point about the spray arms—I’ve seen that happen more than a few times. Weird how something so small can mess things up, huh? Another thing I've noticed is sometimes the water pressure itself can cause issues. Ever checked if your dishwasher's getting enough water flow? Had a customer once whose water valve was partially clogged, and it made the dishwasher act all sorts of strange... gritty dishes included. Maybe worth a quick look?

Yeah, good call on the water valve thing—I had something similar happen once. Turned out the inlet hose was kinked behind the dishwasher. Crazy how easily overlooked stuff like that can mess things up... worth checking behind there too, maybe?
