Had a bit of a nightmare yesterday when my boiler decided it was done heating water. Typical timing, right when I was about to jump in the shower. Anyway, after some frantic googling and mild panic, I managed to get it going again. Thought I'd share what I did in case anyone else runs into this.

First thing I did was check the pressure gauge—was way too low. So I topped it up slowly until it hit the green zone again (around 1-1.5 bar on mine). Then reset the boiler by turning it off completely, waited a minute or two, and switched it back on. It fired up fine after that.

Also noticed the radiators upstairs were lukewarm at best lately, so took the chance to bleed them while I was at it—air hissed out for ages before water appeared, which probably explains why the pressure dropped in the first place.

I'm no expert though, just figured this out from YouTube vids and forums. If anyone's got better tips or knows easier ways to keep boilers happy (without calling someone out every time), I'm all ears...

Interesting, I've been meaning to try bleeding mine too—do you need a special tool for that, or can you just use something lying around the house? Bit nervous about flooding my carpet...
