Fair point about simplicity, but honestly, troubleshooting touchscreens isn't always a nightmare. Usually it's just a loose connection or software glitch—restart, reconnect a cable, and you're good. Buttons wear out too... ask me how I know.

True, buttons definitely have their quirks too. Had a thermostat button stick once—ended up overheating the house for hours before I noticed. Ever had a similar issue with thermostats or heating controls? Curious if it's just my luck...

Had a similar issue a couple winters back—my thermostat wasn't sticking exactly, but it was definitely misreading the room temperature. It kept kicking the heat on even though the house was already warm enough. Took me a while to figure out the sensor was placed too close to a lamp, which was throwing off the readings. If you're having repeated issues with buttons or controls, you might want to consider upgrading to a programmable or smart thermostat. They're generally more reliable and energy-efficient, plus you can control them remotely. Also, regular maintenance helps—dust buildup or loose wiring can cause buttons to stick or malfunction. Might be worth checking out if you haven't already.

Had a similar thermostat issue last winter, but mine turned out to be wiring-related. The previous homeowner had done some DIY work and mixed up a couple wires—took forever to trace it back. Agree that smart thermostats are handy, but I'd also suggest double-checking the wiring diagrams for your specific boiler model. Sometimes even minor wiring mistakes can cause weird intermittent issues... learned that the hard way myself.

Ran into something similar a couple years back—customer had installed their own smart thermostat and kept having random boiler shutdowns. Turned out they'd overlooked the common wire (C-wire) requirement, causing voltage drops and intermittent issues. Wiring diagrams are definitely your friend, but I'd also recommend checking voltage stability at the thermostat terminals. Sometimes even correct wiring can act up if the voltage isn't steady... boilers can be finicky beasts, especially with modern electronics thrown in.
