Just found out that the cabinet under your sink is one of the most common places for mold growth because of tiny plumbing leaks and condensation. Um, kinda gross but makes sense. Anyone had issues with this or tips to avoid it?

Yeah, definitely gross...but you're spot on about the leaks. Even tiny drips can create a perfect environment for mold. Regularly checking pipe fittings and maybe placing a moisture absorber underneath can help keep things dry. Has anyone tried those silica gel packs? Curious if they're effective.

I've never had much luck with silica gel packs under the sink, honestly. They're great for sealed spaces—like shoe boxes or electronics—but under a sink, they get saturated pretty fast and lose effectiveness. A better bet might be improving ventilation or even just leaving the cabinet door cracked open occasionally. And yep...

Been there, done that, spent way too long scrubbing moldy particleboard. Not fun.

Yeah, silica packs under the sink never worked for me either. A few things I've found helpful:

- Regularly checking for leaks (even tiny drips add up, like you said).
- Swapping out particleboard shelves for something more moisture-resistant—plywood or even plastic-coated shelving.
- Adding a small vent or drilling a couple discreet holes in the back panel to improve airflow.

Honestly though, sometimes I think under-sink cabinets are just cursed... mold magnets no matter what we do.
