Had a similar thing happen last year—sensors didn't pick up on some hidden corrosion. Like you said:

"Maintenance beats midnight panic any day."

Now I always make sure to check insulation and fittings regularly... saves stress (and sleep).

Had a similar scare myself a while back—pipes didn't burst, thankfully, but woke up to this weird dripping sound around midnight. Thought I was imagining things at first, but nope, tiny leak under the kitchen sink. Sensors missed it completely. Honestly, I'm still skeptical about relying too much on tech for this stuff... nothing beats getting your hands dirty and checking things yourself every now and then. Learned my lesson the damp way, haha.

Totally agree with you there. Tech is handy, but sensors can miss those sneaky little leaks that slowly build up over time. Had a similar issue myself—sensor said everything was fine, but I noticed the cabinet under my bathroom sink felt oddly damp. Turned out the drain pipe had a hairline crack. Good thing you caught yours early too; midnight plumbing adventures are never fun, haha.
