Had a similar issue myself—pipes burst around 1:30 AM, woke up to water spraying everywhere. Learned my lesson about insulation the hard way. Denim can work, but honestly, I'd be cautious. Like you said:

"just gotta be meticulous about moisture control and airflow..."

Exactly right. If you're going denim route, double-check your vapor barriers and make sure there's no hidden condensation spots. Trust me, finding mold months later is no fun at all...

Yikes, been there myself—nothing like stumbling around half-asleep trying to shut off water valves. Denim insulation seems tempting price-wise, but honestly, I'd stick with something more foolproof. Mold remediation isn't cheap either... Good luck sorting it out, though.

Been there recently myself, total nightmare. Didn't even know where the main valve was at first... Homeownership's a steep learning curve, huh? Hope things dry out soon.

Had a similar scare last winter. Took me forever to realize shutting off the valve under the sink wasn't helping... turns out there's a whole-house valve in the basement I never knew existed. Who knew homeownership came with treasure hunts at 3 AM?

Yeah, been there myself. First winter in my place, pipes froze solid. Learned the hard way to always know exactly where that main shut-off valve is—now it's labeled clearly with bright tape. Lesson learned the cold, wet way...
