I do still get a little uneasy about plastics, though. Maybe it’s just old habits or all those headlines about microplastics lately.
Honestly, I’m right there with you on the plastics concern. I know PEX is popular for being easy to install and supposedly “safer” in freezing temps, but I’m still not convinced it’s the best long-term bet, especially with all the unknowns about leaching and breakdown over time. Copper’s a pain to work with at 2 AM, but at least you know what you’re dealing with. Those eco options sound promising, but I’d want to see some real-world testing before trusting them in my walls. Sometimes the old-school stuff wins out just for peace of mind.
