A wall-hung toilet needs room behind it too
Discussion options
For an accessible bathroom, the toilet choice seems to affect more than floor clearance. A wall-mounted toilet may leave more open floor beneath the bowl, but its carrier and the wall around it need to accommodate the installation and future service. A floor-mounted toilet avoids a concealed carrier, though the bowl still has to fit without taking away the required clear floor space or approach.
How do you compare the usable transfer space and reach to flush controls for the two layouts? I’m also curious how people handle wall reinforcement and access for carrier repairs without building in a maintenance headache. Since wall-hung fixtures can be adjusted in height, how do you keep that separate from meeting the applicable seat-height limits? I assume neither style is automatically compliant; the actual dimensions and local requirements matter.

Treat the required finished seat height as a design constraint: select a carrier and bowl combination whose adjustment range can achieve it, then verify the installed seat height against the applicable requirement. The carrier’s range is part of choosing the system, not a substitute for checking the finished height.
